Melo shells come from molluscs in the Southeast Asian regions. The outside of shell colour is commonly pale orange. The shells are a by-product of the seafood industry. Instead of discarding them, we encourage their collection and cleaning for inlay. We enhance the beauty of the shells by various methods; selecting for colour, cutting in different shapes, cracking and cutting.
