AT: THE AQUARIUM ROOM OF THE PALAZZO LITTA,
CORSO MAGENTA, 24 MILANO, ITALY
CELEBRATING THE ESSENCE OF ITALY WITH
AN INSTALLATION THAT COMBINES NATURE, MATERIALITY AND DESIGN
The installation in the heart of the medieval 5 Vie district brings together the talents of seven Italian architects, designers, and chefs Fabio Pisani and Alessandro Negrini of Aimo e Nadia Milano, under the artistic direction of designer David Dolcini. Here, Nature Squared has collaborated with design studio Analogia Project to create a stunning bar and counter using more than 15,000 waste eggshells to create a unique surface that pays tribute to traditional Italian design.
More about Aimo e Nadia Milano and David Dolcini
“We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Nature Squared in this new adventure. They have enthusiastically supported Trattoria Altra Vista since day one and we truly believe that their exquisite materials complement the marvelous counter designed by Analogia Project which elegantly bridges the memories of the past into a contemporary taste.”

BAKED WASTE EGGSHELL CARRELÉ TILES TRANSFORM A TRADITIONAL ITALIAN BAR AND COUNTER
CArrelé tiles, a Nature Squared sustainable material designed by Nature Squared’s Chief Material Innovator, British-Chinese textile designer and weaver Elaine Yan Ling Ng, are handmade in Nature Squared’s factory, in Cebu in the Philippines, where organic white eggshells from local bakeries, kitchens and Nature Squared’s own eggshell-inlay studio were crushed, combined with a binding agent and natural dyes, then cured at room temperature to create the tiles and surface for the bar and counter.
The innovative, durable tiles divert large volumes of waste away from landfill and are suitable for architectural features, walls, floors, and accessories and are available in multiple tones and combinations to complement contemporary interiors.
NATURE SQUARED X ANOTHERVIEW:
A CUSTOM DESIGN TRATTORIA BAR + COUNTER
At the heart of TRATTORIA ALTRA VISTA are Anotherview’s 24-hour digital nomad ‘windows’ into another time and landscape. Here Italian locations provide a rich setting for imaginative art, furnishings, and accessories by designers such as Analogia Project x Nature Squared, Andrea Zambelli, Benedetta Mori Ubaldini, Matteo di Ciommo, Duilio Forte, and Simone Fanciullacci for Studio F. Nature Squared’s CArrelé tiles are a nod to classic Italian patterns, adding a bold geometric statement to the heart of the trattoria.
CREATIVE CONVERSATIONS AT TRATTORIA ALTRA VISTA ABOUT ART, DESIGN AND CREATIVITY
Taking its cue from the communal nature of trattorie, there will be design-led meetings, presentations, and roundtable discussions, including a series of Creative Conversations focusing on the intersections of the design and culinary worlds, hosted by Nature Squared and conducted by architecture and design author Catherine Shaw.
CULINARY CREATIVITY: A FRESH LOOK AT THE ART OF TRATTORIA DINING
From 15th to the 21st April, artisanal coffee by Torrefazione Dubbini will be served. The installation will also host three dinners celebrating the country’s famed ingredients and dishes, curated by chefs Fabio Pisani and Alessandro Negrini of Aimo e Nadia Milano. Dining accessories made of TERRAMIQUE by Nature Squared include elegant sushi-tray-inspired platters in madder-dyed crushed and moulded eggshell, and coasters in cappuccino- and espresso-hued baked and moulded eggshell. The natural pattern evokes Italian terrazzo.
